Aim: To strengthen your awareness on Gender Equality in Employment.
Description: Understanding basic gender equality principles and ability to apply them in practice will help you to protect your or your colleague’s rights at workplace. This exercise will help you to improve your soft skill “awareness about gender equality”. Thus, you will get an understanding about the gender-based discrimination in the labour market and at workplace, learn about direct and indirect gender-based discrimination at workplaces, understand what gender pay gap is. As a result you will be more prepared to protect yourself against gender-based discrimination at workplaces. If you have noticed the case of direct or indirect gender-based discrimination in the labour market or at workplace, you could appeal to:
- The Equal Opportunities Ombudsman;
- The court;
- NGO fighting for human rights;
- The employer;
- Mass media.
Learning outcomes: Completing this exercise will enable you to:
- Improve your understanding about gender-based discrimination in the labour market and at workplace;
- Recognise gender-based discrimination in the labour market and at workplace.
