A proper preparation for a job interview

Aim: To develop your soft skills needed to present yourself properly during a job interview.

Description: If an employer got interested into your profile on the basis of the written documents that you have provided, then it comes the time of your first physical contact with the employer - the job interview. You must carefully prepare yourself for this step forward. The ability to communicate effectively and present yourself in a proper way will increase your chances to get the job. Good preparation for the job interview is the key to success because you will be marketing yourself as well the skills you mentioned in your CV, for the interviewer. A job interview is a crucial step towards real possibility of getting the job you want, thus you have to prepare yourself in advance and be well - presented if you wish to make a positive impression at an interview. You have to dress appropriately as well to use the proper body language during the job interview in order to establish an effective communication with the interviewer. You should be self – aware and be able to clearly identify your skills, interests and core strengths during the job interview as this will increase your chances to succeed.
The following video presents the particular rules that one has to follow for having a successful job interview. Throughout the whole video it is emphasized that good preparation for the job interview is the key to success because you will be marketing yourself as well the skills you mentioned in your CV, for the interviewer. In this video you will be given tips on how to prepare for the job interview and how to dress, behave and communicate during your job interview in order to leave good impression for the interviewer.

Learning outcomes: Completing this exercise will enable you:

  • To be self – aware during the job interview;
  • To introduce yourself in a proper verbal form;
  • To communicate efficiently with the job interviewer;
  • To well–present yourself during the job interview and use an appropriate body language.
