Aim: To develop the soft skills needed to become the entrepreneur.

Description:An entrepreneur is someone who starts their own business. While the debate rages on as to whether entrepreneurs are born or made, one thing can’t be disputed: polishing certain soft skills can help you be a better entrepreneur. There are some typical entrepreneurial characteristics and traits that many entrepreneurs share. In addition, there are some entrepreneurial traits that are undesirable and, if not managed, could be detrimental. This exercise will help you to learn about some typical entrepreneurial traits and give you an idea if you should consider pursuing an entrepreneurial opportunity.
By completing the exercise you’ll learn how in different situations think and act successful entrepreneurs and in this way deepen knowledge about the entrepreneurial thinking. Also you will learn what helps to be able to take a risk. You’ll understand what it means to work independently and make decisions, and why it is important to be result-oriented when working for your own business.

Learning outcomes: Completing this exercise will enable you to:

  • Better understand the thinking and acting of successful entrepreneurs.
  • Better understand own strengths and weaknesses in pursuing entrepreneur opportunity.
  • Understand if you want to work independently, or to start new enterprise.
  • Deepen your knowledge in risk taking, decision making.
  • Develop an understanding on what does it mean to work independently and be result oriented as entrepreneur.
