Aim: To improve verbal communication skills necessary for ensuring the appropriate behaviour in employment related situations.

Description: Effective communication skills are very important for every person in order to demonstrate politeness and behave appropriately in different life situations. The effective communication skills demonstrated during the job interview often are the deciding factor when the employer in selecting who to hire. Practicing these skills at the workplace helps to create more positive atmosphere between employers and employees thus reduces stress and helps the employees to work more productively. 
This exercise will help you to develop your verbal communication skills by suggesting you the appropriate behaviour in different employment-related situations.

Learning outcomes: Completing this exercise will enable you to:

  • Use active listening skills to understand the needs of the people you are communicating with;
  • Verbally communicate with people making sure that they understand your position/ information you are giving them;
  • Effectively communicate with people at different levels verbally in both formal and informal settings.

Expected duration: 15 minutes.
