Aim: To deepen your knowledge about the soft skills necessary to present a good cover letter for your potential employer.
Description: Cover or motivational letter together with CV is your first introduction to the potential employer; well written documents will increase your chances of getting a job interview, and thus, a job in a future. That is why it is so important to know how working experience and personality can be presented in a written form, as this Cover letter is your first contact with a potential employer. It means that you have to have a good level of such soft skills as able to present yourself in written form, effective communicator in written form. In this Cover letter you as well have to convince the potential employer that you understand and like the job position to which you apply; it means that you are able to demonstrate a good attitude towards your future work place.
The Cover letter gives your employer a more personal look at your abilities and the ways you can contribute to their business; thus, you have to be self-aware about the strengths and abilities which could be show in the Cover Letter. Therefore, it is very important to make it interesting, relatable and professional at the same time. And it is advisable to provide it along with your CV.
This exercise is based on the video, which contains the tips on how to write a proper Cover letter that would attract your future employer’s attention. The video covers the main parts of the Cover letter such as: introducing yourself, telling what job you are applying for, how you can contribute to the business, why you are interested in this particular company and showing how much you want the job. The language you should use and the ways you can make your Cover letter more personal and interesting will also be specified in the this video.
