Aim: To develop your awareness about disability in the workplace.

Description: It is very important to be able to understand and have an awareness of people with disabilities in the workplace. This exercise will develop your skills and understanding of how to behave and act around people with disabilities.
In this exercise you will be introduced to people with different disabilities in different work based scenarios. In each of the case studies you will be asked to identify what behaviour is appropriate when working with the person and what is not appropriate.
This exercise will help you to develop a greater awareness of people with disabilities whom you will encounter in the work place and help you to develop appropriate behaviour with them.

Learning outcomes: Completing this exercise will enable you to:

  • Develop the level of your awareness about disability at workplace;
  • Deepen your knowledge of challenges in the workplace faced by people with a disability;
  • Understand and be able to demonstrate tolerance and patience in a work place.

Expected duration: 25 minutes.
