Aim: To deepen knowledge and understanding of the possibility of validating your competences and skills.
Description: A growing number of European countries emphasise the importance of making visible and giving appropriate value to learning that takes place outside of formal training institutions e.g. in non-formal training institutions or through their lives and work. You have to know that the process of identifying, assessing and recognising a wider range of skills and competences which people develop through non-formal training courses or through informal learning (via mass media, at work etc.) named the VALIDATION of your learning outcomes. Validation typically leads to certification. In lifelong learning ‘validation’ is a crucial element to ensure the visibility and to indicate the appropriate value of learning that took place anywhere and at any time in the life of the individual. The purpose of validation is to confirm learning, or create added value for future learning and/or work.
Your soft skills which you will obtain during the Job-Yes training process (e.g. flexible, critical thinker, punctual etc.) are very important in an employment situation. Thus, it is important to know that you also can validate them in the special validation centres. This exercise will help you develop a greater awareness about the process of validation of your skills and competences. It also will give you an understanding of the key terms in relation to validation of competences and skills. It is very important to understand some key terms around validation in order to be able to start the validation of your skills, which are necessary to improve your employment opportunities.

- Enhance the understanding of key terms used in the validation process;
- Awareness about the possibility to validate your competences and skills.
